Join the PCIM Distinguished Director, Professor Mickey Huff, at Ithaca College for a book launch addressing the news that didn’t make the news this past year with a panel of contributors to Project Censored’s latest annual book on December 4, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Clark Lounge, Campus Center.

Since 1976, media watchdog Project Censored has published the Top 25 censored or under-reported independent news stories each year that the corporate media censored, otherwise distorted, or ignored altogether. They also offer analysis as to why certain stories and topics are subject to this treatment by our Fourth Estate. Project Censored’s State of the Free Press 2025 illuminates issues and raises voices throttled by the establishment press, including on workplace fatalities, threats to water security, social media censorship, and more.

By highlighting the year’s most significant underreported stories, State of the Free Press 2025 shows how independent journalism can promote civic engagement and reconnect people who have otherwise lost interest in sensational “news” that distracts and polarizes us. The book balances critical analysis with optimistic vision as its diverse contributors champion press freedom and critical media literacy to hold the powerful accountable and promote a more just and inclusive society.

State of the Free Press 2025 is a joint publication of Censored Press and Seven Stories Press.
